Paolo Balla

Paolo Balla graduated with a degree in law at the University "La Sapienza" of Rome.

He was admitted to the Bar of Rome since 1991 and at the present he practices civil law, focusing on litigations and extra-judicial activities in the field of commercial and banking law. In this context, he oversaw the collection proceedings for major banks and he gave legal advices on behalf of important local health agencies, gaining considerable experience in the field of administrative law.

As an independent legal counsel, from 2000 to 2002 he worked for Sicilcassa SpA in compulsory winding-up, at the headquarters of Palermo, where he served as responsible of the collection proceedings. In that context took care of the various aspects of asset recovery and those relating to the settlement of the liabilities of the bankruptcy.

Since 2003 he has been commissioned by the Regional Government of the Lazio Region to settle a portion of the administrative and employment cases.

At the same time and until 2006 he served as Chairman of the Disciplinary Board of the Atac SpA, and provided, on behalf of Co.Tral. SpA, legal advices to the Judicial Commission, set up to evaluate the progress of the administrative staff of the company.

In 2001, together with the lawyer Marco Ciapponi he founded the law firm Balla e Ciapponi where he is engaged in the private practice in collaboration with an experienced team of professionals, working in Italy and in several European countries.

Since 2008, the office of Balla, Ciapponi & Partners also operates in the United States, in the city of Chicago, IL, where it is established a permanent organizational presence.
