Marco Ciapponi

Lawyer

Graduated in Law at the University "La Sapienza" of Rome, he is in the private practice since 1990 as a lawyer and consultant with particular reference to issues of corporate law and international law.

Authorized to practice in the Italian High Courts he is engaged in the studying and drafting of contracts and in the assistance regarding joint ventures and investments as well as corporate reorganizations. Since 1991 he is member of the Bar of Rome and on the list of trustees in bankruptcies at the Court of Rome.

Former member of the International Bar Association, he attended advanced courses in trustee and in bankruptcies; he holds a diploma from the International Law Institute, organized in 1996, at the Washington University.

Member of the International Bar Association since 1995, he attended the course "International Contracts" organized by the "Young Professionals for Europe" and seminars on the topic of "Trust "organized by the Association Trust for Italy.

Since 1991 he is engaged in the area of the protection of the international intellectual property law with particular reference to the new technologies and computer protection. In this area he has investigated issues related to the Art Law and museum management, interacting with national and international institutions.

Appointed by the Court of Rome, he served in a variety of insolvency proceedings with the status of a trustee in bankruptcy; in this context, from 2001 to 2002, he was appointed by the Central Bank of Italy as a consultant for the bankruptcy of Sicilcassa S.p.A. in L.C.A, where he served as responsible of the bankruptcy liabilities.

In 2001, together with the lawyer Paolo Balla, he founded the Law firm Balla, Ciapponi & Partners where he is engaged in the private practice in collaboration with an experienced team of professionals, working in Italy and in several European countries.

Since 2008, the office of Balla, Ciapponi & Partners also operates in the United States, in the city of Chicago, IL, where it has established a permanent professional presence.
